Belle Story Rose

Belle Story

Another winner from across the pond, this exquisite rose bred by David Austin is a must-have for those who like large open roses. This variety has a look all its own. Large soft pink petals open up to reveal pretty yellow stamens that sometimes can take on a reddish tone. This rose is not available on Fortuniana at the moment, but would benefit from a stronger root system than its own roots. We grow ours on Dr. Huey in a large pot with good quality, lightweight potting mix (Miracle Grow moisture control is a good one). This rose benefits from a good spraying program but is worth the extra effort as its large 4 inch blooms are marvelous to behold especially when produced in large sprays. One of my favorite varieties even though It’s somewhat difficult to keep happy in South Florida.

Do you have these to sell? I have a beautiful Belle Story in the garden of the home we are selling in Los Angeles, and want to have another.. very difficult to find a supplier. Should I just try to strike some cuttings?

      Hi Christine,
I do not sell them, no. This rose was discontinued recently by David Austin. It is so sad as it is one beautiful rose and it has recently become very difficult to find because of this. I’m not sure if it is still under patent or not, but you could try rooting a cutting, or digging yours up and taking it with you. Alternatively, the only vendor I believe sells it is Angel Gardens here in Florida. It is currently out of stock, but you could contact them and see if they will put one aside for you next season or this fall. Good luck. I do hope you get your Belle Story!

You can purchase Belle Story through Hortico (Canada), they ship to the U.S.

They are out of stock right now, but usually show up in stock in the fall, for shipping in the spring. I bought 4 during fall of 2019, received them spring 2020. They are doing great, this is one of my favorite roses.
